Charity Challenge -  Great Wall of China Trek

Hi Everyone

On the 3rd of October this year I will be walking along part of the Great Wall of China in aid of Accord Hospice, Paisley.  I'm raising funds for this charity because the Accord is our local Hospice which relies on local funding. The sum of £5,200 is needed every day to help run this wonderful place so, for a worthwhile cause within our community, lets see how much can be raised and see how  far your donations go to help terminally ill patients within the Hospice.

This challenge is important to me because the charity is so deserving and everyone involved is totally devoted to the patients. When my mother and other family members were terminally ill, there were no Hospice facilities. Now there are Hospices, I am aware of the impact fundraising has on helping other individuals who are less fortunate and  I would like to give something back to the community.

I have also enlisted the help of my daughter jill and my friends sarah jackie and marjorie who ran the glasgow women's 10K - along with myself! It was a geat day!!!! And lots of money was raised so thanks again to the girls!!!

Another great night was a ceilidh at giffnock north where we raised £1500.00 which was fantastic! Thanks to everyne who came and also the donations for raffle prizes which raised a fantastic amount on the night!!

We also had a 'swisher' night at cathy's house, whch involves exchanging unwanted outfits and accessories! AND a wee glass of wine or two to keep us amused! This raised £190.00 and a big thank you to everyone who came along and to cathy for her excellent hospitality!

Our next fundraiser is going to be an 'alternative' race night which sould take place end august weather permitting!!! ! More details to follow!!!
