You got me through 60KM already and Breakthrough Breast Cancer is £12,000 better off because of your great efforts in helping me with my fundraising, but...
Now that the chemotherapy and radiotherapy have just finished why not help make a difference for 2007 and help me raise my target of £2000 so that I can run for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in the London Marathon (22nd April 2007)?
My husband Peter and good friend Paul Samson recently embarked (18th October) on a charity car rally racing in an old 'banger' from Blighty to Rome over 4 days. Team 'Italian Job' (as they called themselves), both very generously decided to nominate Breakthrough Breast Cancer as their chosen charity (at the same time helping me to raise the £2000 needed in order to run for Breakthrough in the forthcoming Flora London Marathon). They had to purchase a car for less than £100 (Volvo ) and 'race' it to Rome (yes, they got there with the car in one piece)- if you were to see how they customised the car you wouldn't hesitate in sponsoring the pair of them just for having the gaul to travel in the thing...
Now back on home turf they are both planning their next trip - this time to Casablanca...watch this space next year!!!
As I recover from an arduous journey following breast cancer I appreciate the research and fundraising that has gone on in the past (let's face it I wouldn't be here today without it). It is time for me to give something back and to help ensure that, with the vital research of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, one day we will be free from the fear of breast cancer. 1 in 9 women will be directly affected by this disease and over 300 men directly affected each year in the UK so, every little bit of support helps...ofcourse huge donations help tremendously too!
I want to spare future generations of women (including my own two little girls, Bronte aged 11 yrs and Teigan Emilia aged 2 yrs) from this awful disease!
