As you are probably aware we lost my dad to kidney cancer last year. Unfortunately it was diagnosed very late at which point it had spread to other organs and was inoperable. He was very well looked after throughout his illness at St James hospital, who provide cancer care for the whole of yorkshire. THerefore, we have picked this charity to fundraise for, as the money will be used to help not only care for those with cancer but to increase awareness of the disease and to improve diagnostic techniques so people are diagnosed quicker increasing their chances of surviving this horrible disease.
