On Sunday 28th September I ran the Berlin Marathon.  It was a slow and painful experience but I did it and eventually crossed the line in 5:58:59.  Not quite what I'd hoped for but there's no hiding from a lack of training in a marathon!  But I did it!  And so far I have raised over £4,000 which makes the pain a little easier to handle.

I ran the 2007 London Marathon to mark my Dad's 70th Birthday and his recovery from Prostate Cancer.  Dad turned 71 this year and, fingers crossed, still has the all clear.  Sadly since the 2008 April London Marathon I have heard of two more family friends who have Prostate Cancer.  As a mother of two boys and a sister with three brothers I suspect I have not seen the last of prostate cancer - in the UK it is the most common cancer in men.
