Refuge is a national charity for women and children who experience domestic violence, providing emergency accommodation and emotional and practical support. Since opening the world's first women's safe house in London in 1971, Refuge has grown to become the UK's largest organisation of its kind, helping and supporting women and children experiencing domestic violence and acting as a national 'lifeline' for up to 80,000 victims of domestic abuse every year.

My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I am running the Adidas 5K Women's Challenge for the Charity Refuge. As some of you will know, this is a charity close to my heart and I would really appreciate your support in raising money for this worthy cause.

This is a huge challenge for me. As you may know I'm not exactly fit. I started training yesterday (19 May) with a run (well, half run - half walk) round the park. I was so out of breath I frightened an old lady out walking her dog! Today was slightly better and I have another 3 1/2 months to get to the fitness level required to do this run. However, if I don't manage to run the whole 5k you can be assured that I will walk it. I am determined to finish by any means and your support will be a big encouragement to me.
