I have done it!!! I can now say that I have run one of the most well-known marathons in the world and I can tick it off my Life's List of Things to Do!
That's me in the orange shirt, and I did get the medal, but unfortunately was not in a state at the end to hold it up with a proud grin, for the photo. But I will show it off with glee, if you wish to see it!
My time was 4hrs40, which I was happy with, and asked if I would do it again... I am not sure, perhaps another one, somewhere else in the world! It was hard, but such an amazing experience to be a part of, and a true priviledge to run with so many other people raising money for various charities. The children at school showed such a keen interest in my run, and were keen to get onto the official website and tell me my time. Their enthusiasm made it so worthwhile, knowing that I had run to raise money for these children, and so many others in the UK with communication difficulties. And this would not have been possible without the support, encouragement and donations from you. Thank you so much.
Although much closer to my target, I have not quite reached it, and will continue to fundraise over the next few months.
