Story
Ho ho ho
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Mrs Annya Claus (aka Annya Stephens-Boal) will be donning her trainers and Santa suit to run the 5k Santa Run in Greenwich Park on Sunday 7th December 2008 along with another 1,000 Santas!
As some of you already know (but many do not) my Mum died suddenly and unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism 26 years ago - she was only 59 years old. Thrombosis can affect anyone at any time during their lives. It is not just a risk of long-haul flights as many people think; indeed a little known fact is that you are more likely to develop thrombosis by being admitted to hospital than you are by flying.
I am running for Lifeblood:The Thrombosis Charity for whom I work as Executive Officer. The aim of the charity is to raise awareness and educate both the public and medical professionals of the dangers of thrombosis and to fund relevant research projects aiming to fill the gaps in current knowledge of the causes. We have a fantastic website, which we are very proud of, that you can visit at www.thrombosis-charity.org.uk if you would like further information about Lifeblood's work or thrombosis.
Please dig deep to support this very worthwhile cause and please pass on my link to anyone else you feel might be interested.
Thank you so much for your support, Annya xx
08/12/08: Just a quick update. I did the Santa Run on a lovely crisp sunny morning yesterday and completed the course in 42mins 10secs. We had over 20 runners in total all wearing Lifeblood t-shirts and a fabulous time was had by all.
Many thanks to those who have already sponsored me and if anyone else would like to donate, this page will be open for a few more weeks so do a good deed for Christmas and pass on the details!!
Love, Annya
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Lifeblood: The Thrombosis Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
