My story

Hi eveyone!

And yes, I am running the marathon again!!!  Thank you to all those that supported me back in 2006.

In October 2008, I was able to make a personal follow-up to the Worcester diocesan partnership link visit to the diocese of Peru made in 2005.  It was wonderful to see the progress made in all the congregations that we had visited … people are ‘building for life’, combining worship, creating community and sharing the good news as contribution to the one mission of God.

I would like to raise £2,500 to support the work of USPG Mission Companions Bishop Bill Godfrey and his wife Judith, who are doing an amazing job. They have been in South America for over 20 years, starting their work in Uruguay, where they began a new diocese. They moved to Perú in 1998. Bishop Bill is Diocesan Bishop and Judith is President of the Anglican Women’s Association (Perú’s MU equivalent).

An example of one of the many projects the Diocese of Perú is involved with is the building of Sagrada Familia Church in Lima, which will be in constant use once the roof is on. The worship of God and the teaching about the love of Christ will be reflected in the hospitality of the people and the practical care they will offer to the community around, as the life of the new fellowship grows stronger.
