 On the Encephalitis Society's web page, under 'What is Encephalitis?', the first sentence reads:
Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain. I don't need to read any more to know this is not a good thing. I would need to read more to know what causes it and how it can be treated. I have seen how the treatment of Encephalitis is as distressing as the symptoms of it for family as well as patient. I'm running the London and Edinburgh Marathons to raise awareness and money for the fantastic work the Encephalitis Society does and for the support they have given my family. I have been lucky enough to get places in both races through the ballot, so all the money I raise will go into the work of the society rather than covering expenses of buying a place. Please, please, please help me....if I can get this body round a marathon course, surely you can spare a couple of quid! Have a look at the work of the Encephalitis Society here
