Welcome to my Fundraising page. I have broken this down into 3 sections. 1st  to tell you about me and how I got here. 2nd About the events I am running. 3rd The Charity and fundraising target.

About me. I am Anthony Davis. I am 32 years old. When I was 21 I was in a job that involved a lot of sitting around, that combined with fast food, beer and fags soon saw my weight creeping up to almost 16 stone as you can imagine I was extremely unfit.  It was at this pointI  decided to put my trainers on and start running. It all started with struggling to reach the end of the road without being out of breath, I stuck with it and before I knew it I was up to 3 miles a day. The weight started to move and soon i'd lost 5 stone, no beer, fastfood or fags I felt great! The better I felt the more I ran. A year soon passed and I was running about 80 miles a week. I decided to enter the London marathon for the first time in 2002.

Eleven years later this brings me to today, I' ve now run 5 marathons, my best time of 3 hours and 01 minute, I hoping to smash this in 2009 my goal is to come in under the three hour mark.

I have now started to train for ultra marathons and me being me have decided to do the Marathon Des Sables. (The toughest foot race in the world). It is a 6 day race,151 miles in the  Sahara Desert  with temperatures of around 50 degrees celsius. My training programme will put me up to 100-110 miles a week .

The Charity. I have decided to run for The Children Society for a number of reasons, I'm a very able bodied man and have been given a gift that at anytime I can put my trainers on and hit the road. I am free to do this without much consideration. I believe that  everyone should have equal opportunties in life. As I have a vision and goal  I believe that children should also have the chance to reach their vision and  their goals. The money I raise will help to do this.

I would like to thank moti, The new running store on Albany Road Cardiff for their support and for suppling the gear and advice required for my running. For the online store please visit www.mymoti.com

Also would lke to thank Ryan at Esporta Health Club Cardiff for use of the club whenever neeeded. www.esporta.com
