My story
Hello Everyone,
Tony Leonard here, or Anthony to my pre police friends !!
This is an email to tell you about the self funded 500 mile trek I will be doing in May/June 2011. I hope to raise funds for my chosen charity: "Jubilee Campaign".
I WILL WALK THE 500 MILES FROM SOUTH WEST FRANCE, OVER THE PYRENEES AND ACROSS NORTHERN SPAIN TO RAISE MONEY FOR "JUBILEE CAMPAIGN"

Jubilee Campaign works to Stop the Killing of Street Children, to End Child Prostitution, to End Child Sacrifice, and, further the protection of children throughout the world from actions that damage and often end, the lives of Innocent Children. Giving them an opportunity to live a life free from cruelty and suffering.
It was my son Phil, who highlighted to me the work of Jubilee Campaign. Whilst I am on the walk, Phil will be working voluntarily for the charity.
Having listened to Phil and read a book by Danny Smith, one of the charities founders I was inspired to do something that will make a statement, and raise funds for this very worthwhile cause, so.....
I will walk the Camino de Santiago Compostela, a 500 MILE TREK FROM SOUTH WEST FRANCE, OVER THE PYRENEES AND ACROSS NORTHERN SPAIN TO RAISE MONEY FOR "JUBILEE CAMPAIGN. The route of thousands of pilgrims over hundreds of years, also known as The way of St James.
It will take about a month with no rest days! I will be walking approximately 14 to 18 miles per day through the Basque country, the Meseta, and the hills of Galicia. The route wanders through the major cities of Pamplona, Burgos and León, the large towns of Logroño in the Rioja, Astorga, and Ponferrada. It is going to be a real challenge, with lots of blisters, aching limbs and exhaustion along the way. I am though very determined to complete the walk in 30 - 33 days.
All the money you can donate will go directly to the charity to help children at risk, and give them opportunities they would never have imagined possible. This charity and its work is so important to me and more so the children who don't even know it exists, YET, so please dig deep, and give whatever you can to help make a change!
