Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last weekend I 'Biked and Hiked' with a brilliant team named 'Dad's Army' to raise much needed money for Dundee's Maggie's Centre. We cycled 31 miles through the 'great glen' from Fort William to Fort Augustus.  We then chose to walk either 8, 22 or 42 miles to achieve a bronze, silver or gold finish. Really pleased that I managed the gold finish again this year, and again crossed the finish line with Adam - 3 hours quicker than last year.

I work with Adam who's Dad Les was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2008, and he and his family have been living with (and fighting) the cancer for 5 years now.

I attended a meeting in Dundee's Maggie's Centre earlier this year and was amazed with the brilliant set up they have there, and humbled by the brave cancer fighters and their families that attend the centre and make the most of the services they have to offer.

Claire and I, and the kids have spent great times with Adam, his mum and dad and his brother and sister.  We've had many laughs and been inspired to participate (me) and support (Claire) Maggie's Monster bike and hike twice now, as we can see first hand the difference the centre has made to Les, Jackie and their family.

I had huge support and donations last year - which I'm really grateful for, and wonder if you could maybe support Maggie's Centre again and acknowledge 'Dad's Army's' brilliant achievement?  THE WEATHER WAS HIDEOUS AT SOME POINTS!

Thanks for looking at my page and giving a donation some thought...
