The Hospice helps people to live their precious lives well. Our care has many forms – at home, in our outpatient Spring Centre or through specialised care in one of our Hospice beds - and is defined by each person's need. We rely on donations to raise the £6m we need each year to fund our free care.

Story

Anthony Robert Alfred Charles Rumsey sadly passed away in the early hours of Wednesday 20th February 2008. This page has been set up in his memory.

The funeral will be taking place at the Chiltern Crematorium in the Milton Chapel, on Friday 7th March 2008 at 10am. For location details, click here.

A message from Jane Allen, Tony's daughter:

"My dad had wonderful care in his last few days at The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted, after a short illness suffering from pancreatic cancer. I couldn't have wished for better care and nicer surroundings for him, and he had a peaceful and dignified death."

"My dad had said that he doesn't want any flowers at his funeral, but we know that he would want any money to be spent instead on donations to this wonderful place to help them purchase more equipment to aid them in helping bring peace, comfort and dignity to people in their last few days/weeks/months."

How to make a donation:

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate. The Hospice of St Francis will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
