Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many of you may well know, eight years ago I lost may dad to Colon cancer.  Since then my life seems to have been on autopilot,  I have managed to do many fantastic things since then, like getting married and having three wonderful children but like so many other people, I have not been able to share these wonderful moments in my life with someone i loved so dearly and whose opinion meant so much to me.

Since my dads death I have been amazed by how many people are touched by this terrible illness.  Life carries on but you never forget you just learn to get by without these people who mean so much to you.  So when my friend Matt approached me suggesting this challenge I immediately thought of the ICR (the institute of Cancer Research), not just because of my personal experience but because of so many other people who I know have been or are being effected by this terrible condition.

The challenge consists of long distance cycle rides through Vietnam and Cambodia in extremely hot and humid conditions lasting 9 days (please see details of challenge http://www.globaladventurechallenges.com). Obviously the plan is to complete the challenge in one piece, I'm sure for me its going to be a very emotional affair, with memories of my dad brought to the forefront but more difficult will be the amount of time spent away from my family and I'm sure this will be the hardest part for me.
