Story
Thanks so much for visiting our fundraising page. We finished the race! Woo hoo. Paul's time was 1.56.13 and Ant did it in 1.55.56. Please feel free to sponsor us as this page is still active!
We've taken part in the Great North Run in the memory of our Dad / Father-in-law, John Malone and to support the National Amyloidosis Centre who helped treat and care for him.
John was a lovely and most generous man. He'll always be remembered for making others feel so welcome in his presence.
Amyloidosis is a disease caused by deposition of abnormal protein fibres in the tissues and organs of the body, for which there is currently no outright cure. Due to its rarity it is a little-known and thus under-funded cause which really needs your support.
All the money raised here will help the continuing research into this rare, degenerative disease, with the funds going to the National Amyloidosis Centre (NAC).
As the NAC doesn't have its own Just Giving page, donations will go through the Royal Free Hampstead Charitable Trust and be automatically diverted to the NAC's fund (Professor Philip Hawkins, Fund No 24). Using this page to donate means that the NAC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
