Venture Scotland runs social and personal development courses at bothies (mountain huts) in Scotland for 16-30 year olds with limited opportunities. The weekend residential courses are run by trained volunteers who lead conservation work and adventure activities. Longer term programmes, and locally-based follow-on activities are also offered.

My story

Thank you for visiting my Justgiving page!

I now have only 6 day until I race in the Half Ironman in Antwerp (2nd August)! My focus today is to have everything packed and ready to leave Edinburgh tomorrow morning. I'm getting very excited!

Over the last 8 months I have Swam 53 Miles, 35 hours; Biked 1,645 Miles, 128 Hours; Ran 442 Miles, 79 Hours (including running a half marathon before work on a Monday!) to train for this event. I have participated in a 5k run, a 10-mile run, 2 half marathons, Edinburgh marathon, a sprint triathlon and the last 2 stages of the West Highland Way Race.

No story is too big or too small, too common or original that it wont help keep me going in those dark, cold Scottish 5am starts that I will have to maintain if I want to survive the races!
