Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On Sunday 15th June 2008, following on from my wife's heroic efforts in 2 Great North Run half-marathons, it is now my turn to put my body on the line for the sake of a good cause. I will be participating in the Scottish Bikeathon in the Highlands near Kingussie. I am hoping to drag myself round the 26-mile course in any time less than 1 hour : 45 mins, but given all my training is done whilst cycling to work over flat terrain and that the Bikeathon course is a little more 'hilly' this may prove to be somewhat of a stretch target. Whatever the time, Katie, Georgina and Natasha will be waiting at the finish line to hose me down.
I will be raising money for 'Leukaemia Research'. They fund research into all blood cancers such as leukaemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma and myeloma. They aim to understand why/how cells become cancerous, to improve diagnosis, to deveolp new (less harsh) treatments and to ultimately find cures/preventions for all forms of blood cancer. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
