Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Aoife's JustGiving page. We have set up this page in response to all our family and friends requests to donate to a charity close to our hearts. We have researched numerous options and decided that this chosen charity is the right one to express our desire to help other teenagers like Aoife who are faced with the trauma of living with this disease and the massive effect it has on them and the lives of their family and friends.
Aoife was diagnosed in November 2011 with a brain tumour, which would have devastated anyone's life. However, being the Aoife we all know and love she was not prepared to allow this to happen. She had a couragous approach to dealing with this situation. She began a course of radiotherapy which produced positive results and allowed Aoife to live her life to the full and enjoy every minute, with her family and friends.
Aoife never lost her sense of hope that this evil disease could be beaten through treatment along with her positive fighting spirit. From diagnosis in November up until recent weeks Aoife remained fit and well and looked absolutely amazing! She continued to grab life with both hands and enjoy it to the full.
Sadly, this aggressive tumour took over her fighting spirit in the last week of her life, and she is now an angel in heaven.
As a family we are all devastated with the loss of our beautiful, inspirational and extremely brave daughter. We are passionate that more research needs to be done in this area to find a cure or to at least understand these horrific diseases and how they behave.
We would like to thank all those who donate to Brain Tumour UK.
