Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As we are celebrating Aphrodite's fifth birthday we want to do something special for a local charity as a Thank You for all our client's support over the years. We have chosen to raise money for Youth Caner Trust for a number of reasons. Firstly as most of our clients come from the local area we wanted to support a local charity. We visited the charity in Studland Road, Alum Chine where we discovered that the charity offers activity based holidays for young people aged 14 to 30 who are suffering with cancer or any malignant disease. The charity workers go out of their way to make their guests feel at home and although Cancer is a serious illness the aim of the trust is to allow their guests to have fun. In June 2012 the owner of Aphrodite Nicola Haydon will be achieving our main charity expedition which is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest walkable mountain in the world at a staggering 5895 meters above sea level. Aphrodite Beauty Salon will be paying for all travel costs and expenses, meaning that all your sponsorship will be paid to Youth Cancer Trust. In addition the whole Aphrodite team will be participating in lots of fund raising activities. One of which is a cyclothon, where our therapists will take it in turns to cycle for half an hour at a time on an exercise bike for 24 hours (to help motivate Nicola with her training!) Others will include a men’s waxing day, how many are in the jar, fancy dress, 24 hour famine and loads more. Background information of Aphrodite Aphrodite started in the heart of cosmopolitan Westbourne. Nicola bought the salon in 2007 when she was just 28 years old. She has added two more treatment rooms making four in total. When Nicola started five years ago the salon only had 2 therapists, today there are 15. The salon has extended opening hours to cope with the high demand. But this still was not enough. So in June 2010 Nicola opened Aphrodite Moordown. The salon's is modern, bright and sophisticated with a warm & friendly atmosphere. Nicola & her therapists are all highly trained in every aspect of the beauty industry and demonstrate their professionalism to an excellent standard.
