Story
Hi
APRIL UK has put together two teams to undertake TREK50 – a grueling endurance challenge, designed to test the limit of physical fitness, mental strength and team spirit!
The challenge involves a monster trek of 50 miles in under 24 hours along the stunning Pennine Way. Funds raised on the challenge will help improve children’s healthcare through the excellent work of MedEquip4Kids.
MedEquip4Kids improves the health of children and babies by providing equipment not available from limited NHS resources. The charity believes every child should have access to the best medical care when they need it most. Over the last 27 years, MedEquip4Kids has raised over £12 million to fund equipment and facilities which directly benefit around 79,000 children each year. These include:
• Lifesaving paediatric medical equipment such as defibrillators, scanners and monitors to ensure children’s units are fully equipped to deliver the best care.
• Incubators and ventilators for neonatal units to help care for premature babies.
• Toilet training tools to help disabled children overcome problems with continence.
• Mobility aids like walking frames to give disabled children more independence.
• Facilities to improve children’s experience of hospital treatment, such as multisensory rooms, play equipment, toys and more child-friendly waiting areas.
The charity helps babies like Buddy, who was born 12 weeks early weighing just 2lbs 9oz. The tiny baby’s life depended on 24-hour care in an incubator. Thanks to MedEquip4Kids, the neonatal unit in Royal Oldham Hospital was fully equipped to give him this intensive care. Today he is a happy, healthy little boy.
MedEquip4Kids needs us to take on Trek50 so that more children and babies like Buddy can receive the highest standards of medical care. Help us to support this Charity.
PLEASE dig deep......
