After a seemingly endless seven days I completed the 151 miles of Marathon des Sables with some relief, coming in 444 out of over 700 competitors in a total of 47 hours. With the 6 stages including a climb over a 800m high mountain, a 76km ultra-marathon and average midday temperatures of 45°C, the challenge of one of the toughest footraces on earth lived up to my expectations.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciated your incredible generosity in raising a fantastic total of well over £17,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.
