The Man

My name is Abdul-Rahmaan Tobin and by grace of Allah (swt), I have with the help of so many kind hearted and patient people improved my life to become a Muslim. I would like to thank each person in my life that has every fed me, gave me shelter and given me good advice along the way, you know who you are if you're reading this!!

The Motive

 I feel very blessed to be involved with Islamic Help as it gives me the chance to reach out and improve the lives of those unnecessarily suffering from the most basic of needs that we as a soceity seem to have taken for granted. With a heavy heart I have accepted the challenge to raise £7,000.00 and hope that with your help I can reach this target. All the money raised will go directley toward our worldwide winter survial kit packages. Below is a breakdown of the prices for our winter warmer packs and as you can see every single donation you make for this cause would make a HUGE difference!!

The Mountain

Kilimanjaro with its three volcanic cones kibo, Mawenzi and Shira is situated on the outskirts of north east Tanzania and at 5,895 metres above sea level is the highest mountain in the whole of Africa. The high elevation, low temperature and sporadic high winds make this eight day mountain trek very challenging. The likelihood of substantial discomfort is quite high as shortage of breath, hypothermia and headaches occur to even the most experienced of trekkers. 

This challenge is no doubt going to take a lot of mental, physical and spiritual preperation on my part. I sincerely hope that through this journey of climbing Kilimanjaro we as a team build up a stronger bond that may lead us on to greater achievements inshaAllah.
