We collect used bicycles in the UK and we ship them, in containers, to people who need them in Africa. Some people living in rural African communities walk miles everyday to reach water, school, work or healthcare. Bikes are a sustainable mode of transport and help change lives for many families.

Story

In Britain, millions of bikes are thrown away or lie unused in sheds, whilst many people in Africa have no access to transport of any kind. People spend hours each day walking to collect water, firewood or to access health care, school and employment. A bicycle lightens this burden and dramatically improves their wellbeing as well as work and education opportunities helping to bring social change. Bikes give families the extra time to earn, learn and enjoy life.

Also the average African woman walks roughly 4 hours a day. Whilst walking, they're often subject to risk of harassment or even assault. With a bicycle, women are safer, and have more time to pursue opportunities and improve their families’ lives.

Every bike we recycle can create immeasurable impact in an African village economy. Bicycles have proven to be an invaluable resource even in regions that have public transport. £15 donated can transform the lives of an entire family.

With your donation, we can achieve this. We have 7 colleagues who are dedicating themselves to a fun run (wink wink, not everyone ;) ) to make this happen, please can we get some great support as we aiming to change lives.

So please, help us RECYCLE :D
