Walk for Cancer Research UK

Ahmadiyya Charity Walk · 8 June 2008
12 Miles With Special Signifiance
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
In the last 12 months the "fight against cancer" took personal significance for me as I was diagnosed and treated for Hodgkin's Lymphoma - cancer of the lymph system.
Cancer Research UK is at the forefront in this area and it's through advances in treatments that I'm even able to take part in this event this year.
A Break This Year?
Having just completed 6 months of treatment, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, in February and having just gotten back to full hours at work I'd felt it best to not take part this year. My energy levels are increasing but I've not attempted anything like this to date.
No Way!
Thinking about this more, however, I realised taking part this year was more important than ever.
It's going to be physically tough. Please help make the pain and discomfort worth it. Please give what you can.
High Hopes
In 2006 with your help I was able to raise just over £500 for Great Ormond Street Children Hospital and in 2007 just over £1,000 for the NSPCC - but this year I'm aiming far above that and hoping to raise £2,500
Corporate Matching?
Often employers will match a donation you give to charity. If your company provides this be sure to take advantage of this - its more money for good causes with little extra hassle for you!
JustGiving
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
