This year I'm going to drag my chubby, 95kg ass up to the top of Ecuador's tallest volcanoes. You'll get to see me suffer, wheeze, cry and sweat in glorious 4K through daily video diaries, photos and mini-clips on Instagram.

Every penny you give will go straight to the Prince's Trust. It's not to fund my trip, I'm paying for that out of my own pocket with some subsidisation from MoneySuperMarket. I'm also buying all my own equipment and cameras. What's more important is that I'll need to adopt a gruelling regime of training and dieting to even stand a chance of finishing the trek at the height of 5,800m above sea level. The air is thin up there, my smoker lungs are in for one hell of an adventure.

Throughout the year I will try and make my colleagues happy with the standard assortment of fundraising events, but with a twist of Slavic chic. Bake sale? No. How about pelmeni sale! Charity car wash? No. How about fist fighting?

On second thoughts, maybe not fist fighting.

As an exciting bonus, on top of that 5.8km volcano, I solemnly promise to stand tall and proudly announce into the sunrise... something. Something decided by the highest bidder. It's going to be glorious.
