No doubt you already know what we are doing but in case you dont .... We have booked ourselves onto runnning a 5km sponsored walk on 6th May 2013..... brilliant!

Many of you will already know that, under the inspiration of the Divine, since 1993 monks, nuns and friends of Skanda Vale have been caring for people with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. In 2004, they opened a day care hospice, eight miles from Skanda Vale Monastery called Skanda Vale Hospice.

In early 2015 they plan to extend and develop the existing service to include a six bedroom in-patient care unit, so that anyone with a life-threatening illness will be able to stay for agreed periods of respite care.

They also plan to offer an ‘end of life’ care service, so that terminally ill patients can pass away with dignity and support in a homely, loving environment, with access to all the clinical care and pain relief they may need.
