Arwen & Ian's Kilimanjaro Trek June 2010 · 13 June 2010

SOS Children's Villages UK offers unsupported children worldwide the chance to grow up in a safe and nurturing family environment with education and healthcare. We work to reduce family breakdown and child abandonment and protect at-risk children affected by conflict and disaster.

Story

Please help us raise money for SOS Children, the world’s largest orphan and abandoned children’s charity.  We are donating specifically to those children in Arusha, Tanzania.  Every penny received by SOS Children will support SOS Children's Village Arusha - contributing to the food, clothing and educational needs of the children growing up there

Have a look at their website for more information. www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/sponsor-a-child/africa/tanzania

The trek will take place on the 13th June 2010, finishing on the 21st June.  We are doing the Machame Route.

We have decided to trek Kilimanjaro for several reasons:

1.       The celebs did it and we want to look cool like them

2.       We wanted to raise money for charity

3.       We have both actually wanted to do it for ages and never got round to it

We wanted to raise as much money as possible for charity, and we looked into the organised trips, but a lot of the money went to the organisers, so we are funding the trip ENTIRELY by ourselves and every single penny raised will go straight to charity.

We are also raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, so please have a look at that page as well.  Donate to both if you can!!

Our website has more information and training updates (not going well so far) www.worldtrippin.co.uk
