Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the Manchester 10k again and am raising money for Bowel Cancer UK. My father has recently recovered from bowel cancer. He completed a routine test at home and the cancer was caught in the very early stages. He has made a full recovery. Bowel Cancer UK aims to raise the awareness of the disease as well as campaigning for best treatment and care and providing practical support and advice.
If recovering from bowel cancer wasn't enough, at the beginning of the year my father launched Ashall Glover Land and Estate agency with me, only six months previously he had undergone major surgery to remove part of his bowel, it makes sense that the company's chosen charity is Bowel Cancer UK!

Early diagnosis of bowel cancer in the UK is a problem because people either find it uncomfortable to discuss the symptoms of the disease or simply do not know what they are.
Survival rates in the UK are amongst the lowest in Europe, with 15% more patients being diagnosed at a later stage of the disease compared with most other European countries.
This is why Bowel Cancer UK’s work – to encourage people to recognise the symptoms of the disease and to act on their concerns so that they have the best chance of survival – is so important.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I'm doing this for my Dad, who's grit and determination over the past 12 months has been unsurpassed, so please dig deep and donate now!
Thanks
Lucy x
