We provide support services and work to reduce the number of baby deaths

Story

After my beautiful baby boy Liam was stillborn at 40 weeks pregnancy, I didn't know where to turn. 5 minutes away from where I lived was a lovely baby memorial garden that SANDS had created. I started to visit the garden and ordered a plaque in Liam's memory to be placed there. This provided me such comfort and helped me see I wasn't alone- and there was often someone else there who knew what I felt.It was a respected place of reflection of what we had lost and what hopes we still had. When I moved to Ashford, Kent, I realised the nearest garden was a long way away. As Liam is such a huge part of mine and my family's lives I was inspired to create a garden here for families in and around the area. I contacted Kent SANDS and with their help and guidance I trained as a SANDS befriender and became a member of the Kent group. This meant we were able to get the ball rolling on this amazing and unique project. The council have been supportive and now the dream is slowly becoiming a reality- but funds are desperately needed to turn the space into a garden for our babies!

I hope you feel this is a project you can support- any donation big or small will take us one step nearer.
