Story

My name is Ashley-Jane. I'm a 27 year old Hairdresser and run my own salon with my sister Hayley. I was diagnosed with PCOS 12 years ago and have been battling with symptoms such as constant cramps, infertility, facial hair, mood swings, fatigue, depression, body hair, acne, weight gain....and so on! I am one of the lucky ones, after years of complaining to different Doctors and Specialists I finally got refered to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for facial hair removal (laser) and was prescribed Metformin 500mg.  This has been my life saver, I don't know what I would do without this.  I have started to loose weight and the hair on my face has started to reduce meaning my confidence has started to grow and I am starting to feel more like a woman.  I hate knowing there is so many women out there dealing with this horrible condition in silence and feel like they have no hope and that's why I am shaving my hair.  For me, the hair on my face and body has been the hardest of all the symptoms to deal with (except the infertility part), it is really embarresing.  so I say....UP YOURS PCOS!  I MAY HAVE PCOS BUT PCOS DOES NOT HAVE ME!!
