Job Done!
And thank you to everyone who has or is just about to donate to such a worthwhile cause.
Here are some statistics: Completed in three days, the total distance was 301km, of that, we spent 68km going up hills with a total ascent of 3329 metres (almost 11,000 feet... feel the burn) .
We had the pleasure of riding with a fantastic bunch of people and a wonderful support team. Many of whom had personal reason for raising money the Meningitis Trust. Which is a reminder to be constantly aware and vigilant for signs of the infection.
Signs and symptoms that can appear in any number or order include: Fever- with cold hands and feet, vomiting, being drowsy and difficult to wake, spots/rash that does not fade under pressure (use Glass test), vomiting. In babies and toddlers they may be refusing food, have rapid breathing, have an unusual cry, be floppy listless/unresponsive and/or a dislike of being handling. Older children and adults may complain of a severe headache, stiff neck, severe muscle pain, confusion/irritability and/or a dislike of bright lights. Remember it can strike at any age, trust your instinct and get medical help immediately
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Meningitis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
