UPDATE:
Both Lucy and I completed the 101 miles in just under eight hours ride time. We were joined by sixty five other riders and all but one finished. We were blessed with good weather, and although we rode into the wind for long periods, the rain held off.
A big thank you to all that supported this ride!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Ride for Rachel was the inspiration of Rachel's uncle, Martin Smith who will be cycling with over 65 other riders, me included, 101 miles from Cossington in Leicestershire to Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk. Many more cyclists will be joining in for the final 25 and 5 miles.
Rachel was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in February 2005. In the last year Rachel has undergone extensive chemotherapy which has obviously been very unpleasant for her but she has been extremely brave throughout and shown incredible resiliance, insisting on attending school and living as normal a life as possible.
