Ran 23 miles sunday morning (3 hours 12 mins) the last 2 miles were a nightmare as was the weather.

Got in the house looking forward to a long hot soak only to find the hot water tap seized up.

I was almost in tears trying to fix it, finally got it working so lay there eating peaches and custard from a large bowl dreaming of london.

The 18 mile training run on Sunday went well. My legs were begining to feel sore towards the end but I managed to keep up a good pace. I finished in 2 hours 22 mins. This weekend I hope to do 20 miles.

I have been trying a new recovery technique on my legs. The idea is, after your shower turn the heater off and spray your legs with cold water. Its great, your legs dont feel sore or stiff afterwards, they just feel numb.

01/03/03 I've not been very good at updating this page, sorry! I'll try harder in future. since the last update I've entered two races. The first was The Nick Beer 10Km Road Race round the Great Orme. I finished in 41:12 my times are getting slower but the races are getting tougher. The second was the North Wales 1/2 Marathon championships in Wrexham I wanted to finish in under 1 1/2 hours my time was 1:31:10, as usual I set my target to high. My next race on 23rd March is the Anglesey 30Km (19 miles aprox ) road race, it starts from David Hughes school Menai Bridge at 11am, why not come along and cheer me on. The other morning cycling to work I hit a patch of ice and ended up slidding down the road on my backside. No serious injury just a bruised hip. I am usually out training between 5am and 7am, now It's getting lighter in the mornings if you see me blast your horn and give me a wave, it makes a difference knowing there is someone out there supporting you. It's now 10 o'clock time for bed, 18 mile training run tomorrow so I need a good nights sleep. 30/01/03 Over optimistic that 40 mins forgot about that hill to the finish at the school. Time 41:07 fairly happy. Great orme 10 Km in 2 weeks. 24/01/03 Trainings going well so far, off to Menai Bridge 10 Km race on Sunday, hope to get close to 40 mins. Please sponsor me online. It's the most efficient way for me to raise funds for my charity. If you are a UK taxpayer your donation will be increased by almost a third at no cost to you. Both myself and my chosen charity really appreciate your donation. Any amount will make a difference but please try to give generously! Many thanks. Ash.
