Over 6 days in September 2011, three novice hikers will attempt to reach the summit of the tallest mountain in Africa. What can we expect? Searing heat at base, minus 18 at the summit, sleepless nights, and we're told that breathing at altitude levels of 19340 ft is similar to breathing with an 18 stone bloke sitting on your stomach and this is before altitude sickness kicks in. Well if Moyles can do it....
In the face of all such adversity (and with no trusty G&Ts to get us through) we need something to keep us motivated particularly on that final 16 hour summit day. This is where we would very much appreciate your help.
We are raising money for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, who looked after Emma's Dad and supported her family in the wake of his passing to cancer last July. Less than 16% of their funding comes from the NHS and all their services are free of charge but they need to raise over £10,000 a day to continue offering such exceptional care.
We've paid the full cost of the trip ourselves so every pound raised will go straight to the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Thank you for your support.
