My story

Dear All

Thank you very much for visiting my page.

I work for Connect, the brilliant charity for people with aphasia (acquired communication disability, often after a stroke or brain injury). Our aim is to improve the lives of people living with aphasia, equipping them to reconnect with life.

I have been challenged to give up Pinot Grigio (and all alcohol) for one month. I'm not stupid, I've chosen February, the shortest month.

Those of you that know me well know this will be quite a challenge! So I really appreciate your donations and I will buy you a drink in March

Thank you very much from me and all of us at Connect

Alex

Charity Registration No. 1081740

Connect is a national charity for people living with aphasia (communication disability) which is often caused by stroke. Aphasia can strike anyone at any age and at any time. 1 in every 200 people in the UK lives with aphasia and each person experiences it differently. Some people cannot speak at all, some people have just a few words. It affects reading, writing and numbers. Aphasia can lead to lack of confidence, depression, social exclusion – and people can lose their connection with the world. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our vision is a simple one, we want a world where people with aphasia can re-connect with life again. Find out more about how we do that at www.ukconnect.org
