Story
The Atacama Crossing is a 6 day multi-stage race crossing the Atacama Desert, Chile. It will be held from the 18th to 24th August 2007, during which time I and the other competitors will cover over 150 miles / 250km of the driest desert environment on earth, at altidues of 2500m above sea-level.....whilst carrying all of our own food, clothing and equipment.
The race breaks down into 6 stages equivalent to a half-marathon, 2 back to back marathons, a 50 mile slog and an "easy" 10 miles to finish. Needless to say blisters may become an issue at some stage.........
Many of us have seen at first hand the valuable support that The Royal British Legion has given to serving soldiers and the families of those injured or killed on operations over recent years, I feel it is therefore even more important than ever to support this organisation wherever and whenever we can.
