Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising funds for The Alzheimer's Society, because my poor Mum has been suffering from Alzheimer's for the past two years. She now lives in a care home in Sudbury in England, where she receives round-the-clock care from a wonderful team of carers.
Between 7th and 12th March 2010 my 18 year old son (Sam) and I competed in the Atacama Crossing, a 240 kilometre race across the Atacama Desert in northern Chile - the driest place on earth. It was a huge challenge for both of us but we made it! We were given water every 10-15kms and provided with tented accommodation at the end of each day, but otherwise we were on our own, lugging heavy rucksacks (containing all our food, clothes and safety equipment) across the desert for 6 consecutive days. It was hot during the day - we registered 45 degrees on one day - and cold at night.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
There has been a fantastic response and I have almost reached my target of £10,000 - a huge thank you to everyone who has already donated.
Together we can make a difference! Thank you.
