Thank you very much for supporting this gruelling challenge. We are now on our way to reaching the target of 250 miles by Saturday 13 Oct 12 lunchtime. We are all swimming 4 legs of 3 kilometres in a 24 hour period, which over the week is presenting a very serious undertaking. In order to complete this, the team have been training every morning at Windsor Leisure Centre and lakes near Windsor.

The soldiers will be swimming both day and night at the lake and would love to have as much support from you as possible. This is especially important on the 13th October on the final day of the swim. There will be a barbeque and bar open in order to help raise money for the challenge. If you are able to get down to the lake, the address is: Desborough Sailing Club, Ferry Lane, Shepperton, Middlesex, TW17 9LQ.

The Household Cavalry has a dual role – providing mounted State Ceremonial Duties in London as well as carrying out the role of an armoured reconnaissance regiment, equipped with Scimitar light tanks. The regiment has been deployed to Afghanistan every year since 2006 and in Iraq prior to that.

All proceeds will go to the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund which has been established to assist in the care and rehabilitation of those in the regiment injured whilst on operations. The regiment is returning to Afghanistan next year and so is very grateful for your continued support!
