Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I entered the Edinburgh Marathon back in September 2011. I needed a training goal after a bad dose of flu had floored me for much of 2011. I started training very optimistically and thought 'this is easy' (!!!!)
Oh Dear! A few months later, I wasn't so sure that I would be able to complete the distance and the training was getting harder. I was really about to give up.
Then my Aunty Nancy passed away very suddenly on 22nd February 2012. There are so many ways to describe her and what she meant to the family. She is very sadly missed. I decided to take inspiration from her, not to give up, and to keep on running.
My Aunt had volunteered for Macmillan and thought they were 'Great!' so I decided to raise money for the Charity in celebration of her life.
I may not be the fastest in the marathon but I will finish. My only time goal it to beat the sweeper bus!
I'll be thinking about my Aunt on the way round. I'm hoping she'll give me a boost along the way. Apologies now if I start singing 'You are my sunshine' when I'm 20 miles in and need to keep going!
Any donation at all would be amazing to help this charity continue its incredible work.
Thank you!!
