Our inspiration comes from George Nicholson (running legend in the North East) who two years ago completed 8 different parkruns (www.parkrun.org.uk) in the West Midlands. A few from Arrow Valley joined him on his third run of the day and also some joined him on his final run of the day. He did this all in support of Acorns Children's Hospice.

If you don't know about 'parkrun', this is a weekly free 5k running event that happens all over the country at 9.00am on Saturday morning.

So what we are planning to do is run 8 parkruns in one day, but at 8 different locations. So this will consist of 8 x 5k runs which is just 2.2k short of a full marathon.
