AMESBURY VISUAL ARTISTS – “STONEHENGE” CHARITY PROJECT

The AVA are a group of Artists who gathered together in July 2006 in order to network each other and to bring a cultural community spirit into Amesbury.   To date we are around 50 strong, have held numerous exhibitions in Amesbury and around Wiltshire, receiving varied commissions and many sales.   

In January we held a “Stonehenge” competition which was won by Kathy Gevaux.  The artwork has now been enlarged and block printed consisting of 15 canvases.  Those artists participating will use their own skills and mediums to reconstruct the design as a Team project.

Our aim is to have the artwork completed for the Amesbury Carnival 2008 in aid of our chosen charities; Naomi House (Children’s Hospice) and “Caring 4 Kids”, part of the Stars Appeal, in aid of building a new Ward at Salisbury Hospital for seriously ill children.

It is both an exciting and stimulating venture which we hope will raise a substantial amount of money for these two important charities.
