Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976, with the sole aim of ridding the world of poverty housing. Using donated money, materials and labour we work in partnership with people in need of shelter to build safe, decent homes in over 90 countries around the world. Today we have built over 260,000 homes, helping over one and a half million people in more than 3,000 communities.

Habitat for Humanity is a charity that runs housing projects in the most needy parts of the world. Their aim is to provide simple affordable housing using local resources and materials to improve the lives of many families in need of a decent home.
I undertook a similar project in South Africa in 2006 and I was impressed by Habitat's direct work and I found it a very humbling experience. I will join a project team of 12 volunteers for a week in Accra, Ghana in early August. We will help with building houses in some of the poorest and needy parts of Ghana. I will get a chance to work hands on with local tradesman and see the money being put to work at first hand.
All money donated will go directly to HfH and not towards any of my personal costs or expenses. Thank you for your kind generosity – it is much appreciated. Albert PS - Apologies to those who did not see pictures from Durban, please shout and I will send you some pictures.
