Thank you for visiting my site! Firstly, thank you ever so much for all the kind donations I have already recieved, I have actually been amazed and I know it will be greatly appreciated! For my gap year, before going to university, I have the privilege of going out to South America for a year, beginning in August 2008. Out there I’m doing some voluntary work for Project Peru, a charity that has its own children’s refuge and also supports community initiatives. Project Peru is a small, lively totally voluntary charity offering food, clothes, shelter, education and fun to the children who live in their refuge in the desert shanty towns of Lima. They also give ongoing direct and practical help to communities, women's cooperatives and soup kitchens both locally and in the interior of the country. In the UK, as well as event-based fundraising, they raise awareness of development issues.
Whilst I am in Peru, I will also be undertaking the Inca Trail. This will be an awesome experience, but I am doing it to raise money for the charity so they can continue their amazing work. The more money I can raise, the more people the Project can help. Further information about the charity can be found at www.projectperu.org.uk Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Project Peru will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. It doesn’t matter what you donate, whatever you can afford is great! But please dig deep for a very worthy cause! Thanks! .
