No I'm not about to run, swim, cycle or anything else that involves heaving myself off the sofa. All I'm doing is disappearing off for another "holiday". But apparently these days even that is enough to warrant getting a load of cash off other people.
Apparently it's traditional to pass the hat round for a present to send me on my way. However, despite the fact that some may be willing to part with substantial sums of money in order to get rid of me, you could say it's a little cheeky when I'm about to be paid to do "nothing" for the best part of a year. Again. On the other hand, as one of our contractors was leaving today, someone did point out that we've been paying him far more to do nothing for the best part of a year...
More seriously, there's little we need in the way of baby stuff this time around, so it seemed appropriate to try and raise some cash for a more worthy cause. I've chosen the Zoe's Place Trust which funds hospices to provide palliative and respite care to terminally ill under 5s. You can check out their website at:
Thanks loads!
