My story

LOOK OUT RHINOS, HERE COMES BAGPUSS!

###Update, 23 April 2012###

Bagpuss did it!!  We finished in a record time of 5 hours and 58 minutes, beating the boys from TOWIE (amongst others).  Thanks for your support and please continue to donate to help us toward our target!

###Update, 27 March 2012###

Training has gone well, and I am now averaging 60-70 miles a week, including one 20 mile run every weekend.  The suit is being delivered this week hopefully, so I will be able to try it when I arrive in the UK on 16th April!

Video of the Bagpuss costume is now online! http://alturl.com/ji3mg

I have been offered 10 Euros by my good friend David Lumby for every one minute UNDER 6 hours 30 minutes I finish in!

Text donations are now set up.  Simply send the amount you would like to donate, with the code KMGP79 to 70070.  Simple!

**********

In 2012, I will be running the London Marathon in the largest Bagpuss costume ever made.  No joke, this will be an all encompassing, heavy, but fantastic looking outfit and will make it extremely easy for friends to spot me on the day!

Bagpuss is the much loved saggy old cloth cat that lots of us grew up with.  He's also very, very lazy, so encouraging him to train for 4 months in order to run 26.2 miles is going to be tough...

I am running to support the charity I have worked with for the last 18 months; Hospices of Hope.  We help to deliver much needed FREE palliative care to areas in Eastern Europe that need it most.  More details can be found on the link to the left.

The costume is being designed and made professionaly and updates on it's progress will appear here.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you!

Marc
