Story
As many of you will be aware, the 3 Rifles have just returned from a gruelling seven month deployment in Afganistan. The troops spent the majority of their time in Sangin, often described as the most dangerous places on earth, and Kajaki in southern Afganistan, and despite achieving a great deal during their tour, the Battlegroup lost 30 of its soldiers, with many more sustaining serious injuries. It is through this that the 3 Rifles have been labelled the most battle scared unit in Afganistan.
The Rifles' Care for Casualities Fund goes towards supporting those who become casualties, and also those families who have lost their sons, brothers, husbands and fathers. On the 12th September 2010, Paul Davison, father of Rfn Christopher Davison of 3 Rifles, will be undertaking the End 2 End cycling challenge, a 75km route covering the peaks of the Isle of Man, with the the hope of raising some much deserved funds for this charity. While Christopher returned home safely from the tour, those who did not, and the families of the fallen are never far from our thoughts. If you would like to make a donation towards this worthwhile cause, any amount would be greatly appreciated :)
