It is supported by over 18,000 members an army of vounteers and manages 43 nature reserves totalling approximately 700 hectares.

                   HELP US SAVE BALLS WOOD

Balls Wood Nature Reserve is a 55 hectare woodland, packed with wildlife, just outside Hertford.

The site is home to a wide range of woodland plants, birds, amphibians and aquatic invertebrates as well as being a haven for over 20 species of beautiful butterflies.

 Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust has been managing half of Balls Wood for over thirty years.  We now have the opportunity to acquire ALL of the site along with the adjacent (3ha) Hobbyhorse Wood.

We MUST buy Balls Wood to guarantee a secure future for its wildlife, and for  everyone who loves it.

If we fail, and the wood gets into the wrong hands, it could be broken up and its future will be uncertain.

We must raise £700,000 to protect and enhance this magnificent wood.
