Story

WE DID IT!!!

See the photo below of the team summitting Ben Nevis (our first of three). Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and sponsored the Balreed team effort so far. Please continue to donate in support of the wonderful cause we went to all the effort for.

Balreed is a national but close-knit company with a head office in Maidstone, Kent - www.balreed.com. As a provider of print and document technology and services we have been fortunate enough to enjoy a pretty rapid growth in a tough economy and now we would like to put something back into the community.

This year we are sponsoring The Lord's Taverners – a charity which encourages, organises and supports sporting activity for disadvantaged and disabled children. Our aim is to raise £20,000 to buy a specially adapted minibus so that the children of Bromley-based Phoenix Pre-School can be transported safely to recreational activities benefitting their education, health and well-being.

From the 5th to the 7th of July we took on one of the toughest challenges in the UK. We climbed the UK’s three highest mountains in just 72 hours as part of the 3 Peaks Challenge! In total we covered 42km horizontal distance and 3000 vertical metres as we climbed - Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales.

Participants were: Gary Downey, Graham Orr, Robin Stanton-Gleaves, Steve Algeo, Steve Spicer, Vicky Billingsley, Amanda Kent, Rob Jarred, Sergio Chiavarini, Sammy Stewart, James Rayner, Richard Harris, Sam Willett, John Norris, Conor Simpson, Mark Jagielka, Russell White, Kevin Few, Simon Randall, Phil Brammall, Gary Newman, Peter Baynton, Kate Sharp, Mark Sandison, Enda O'Toole, Jacquie Pamphilon, Tracy Crundwell, Keeley Box, Elaine Lloyd, Craig Marsh, Steve Quinnell, Kevin Jarrett, Jodie Clarke, Rory Gallagher.
