We're running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for the student campaign organisation People & Planet.

People & Planet consists of 61 University groups and 65 Sixth-form groups across the U.K., campaigning to end world poverty, defend human rights and protect the environment.

People & Planet are small in budget but large in impact, running campaigns such as:

Treat AIDS Now Holding the UK Government to their promise to provide universal treatment for AIDS patients by 2010. http://peopleandplanet.org/treataidsnow/

Go Green Campaigning to reduce the impact of higher education on climate change emissions. This includes the publishing of the Green League, ranking Universities on their sustainability.  http://peopleandplanet.org/gogreen/greenleague2008

FairTrade Campaigning to get FairTrade certification for Universities and Sixth forms
