My colleague John Cook and I from Marshall Ford at Bury St. Edmunds have volunteered for an automotive charity event, and we have been accepted as part of a 40 car team and we will be completing the event from Sunday the 12^th of September 2010 and if all goes to plan arrive back in the U.K on Wednesday the 15^th of September 2010.

 

 For those of you who are not familiar with the organization, http://www.ben.org.uk   BEN exists to provide care, helping the automotive and related industries provide care and support for employees and their dependants in times of need. They provide a wide range of different types of support depending on your, or your loved ones’, situation. This could mean helping with the cost of specialist disabled equipment for your child, giving you emotional support through an illness or funding a respite break for you and your partner.

 

The event in question involves us purchasing a vehicle for under £500 and then driving to Monaco in the south east of France and back in three days (a total of 1900 miles from our location) that’s the easy part from our point of view. We have sourced a suitable vehicle for the venture,An amazing imported Kia Karnival with 265,000 miles on the clock and  our employers (Marshall motor group) have kindly put up the £500 entrance fee and offered to cover the costs of the Vehicle, and we will be covering the costs of Fuel, Tolls, insurance etc ourselves.

But to make the event worthwhile we also need sponsors and I’m hoping that this is where you can assist us, I am asking you to help us out this year by giving a donation to BEN  I hope we can count on you for a generous donation.
